i was thinking of putting a 400w hps light in a closet (typical size) to grow vegtables over the winter months. would a 400w hps light create too much heat with out ventaltion?

@SuperGrowPlantsCon's - Needs more penetration to get to lower leaves ( LED's are very directional, need to place them on angles to use all the plants leaves), Not a full spectrum ( you need to provide a fluorescent to get a full spectrum)Some say cost but I sell for 220$, you save on the energy bill and bulbs and the ufo's are so compact, its easier to work with,Each ufo covers abouta 3x3 area for most uses if your growing lettuce for example you can stretch that to 7x7, Depends how high

@SuperGrowPlants Have you ever tried it? Il give you some pro's and consHPSPro's - Very bright, has full spectrum of light, Good penetrationCon's- Lots of Heat, Needs fans, needs ballast, energy bill, Blown bulbsLEDPro's - Able to get close to the plant minimize any stretching, No wasted energy, No heat, Small, no ballast, 50 000 hour leds' one 90 watt unit is the same as a 400 watt hps bulb in terms of useful output (just because its brighter does not mean its better) |
