Rose Garden (#1 - 1970) A nice song from my country music CD.Forever Country (New stereo recordings bythe original artists)Disk 1 - The Real Deal#4 **Many Lynn Anderson's fans claim this is not her voice. One reported even Lynn herself said this was not her voice. So I changed the title. But be aware that new stereo re- recording might change the original voice? (I don't know the process at all) that this version may sound differently?Anyway, it is a nice song. Even if it was not Lynn Anderson, still very beautiful. But I believe it is Lynn A.'s song because just imagine the other person singing this song this much like Lynn A., it is just impossible.***LyricsI beg your pardon,I never promised you a rose garden.Along with the sunshine,There's gotta be a little rain sometimes. When you take, you gotta give, so live and let live,Or let go.I beg your pardon,I never promised you a rose garden.I could promise you things like big diamond rings,But you don't find roses growin' on stalks of clover. So you better think it over.Well, if sweet-talkin' you could make it come true,I would give you the world right now on a silver platter,But what would it matter? So smile for a while and let's be jolly:Love shouldn't be so melancholy.Come along and share the good times while we can.I beg your pardon,I never promised you a rose garden.Along with the sunshine,There's gotta be a little rain sometimes.Instrumental break.I beg your pardon,I never promised you a rose garden.I could sing you a tune or promise you the moon,But if that's what it takes to hold you,I'd just as soon let you go, but there's one thing I want you to know. You better look before you leap, still waters run deep,And there won't always be someone there to pull you out,And you know what I'm talkin' about. So smile for a while and let's be jolly:Love shouldn't be so melancholy.Come along and share the good times while we can.I beg your pardon,I never promised you a rose garden.Along with the sunshine,There's gotta be a little rain sometimes.

This was from one of the earliest radio hits I remember hearing, along with, yes, My Sweet Lord and Knock Three Times. I was 5. I think I had more fun back then.

i love her hair.... so close to heaven... but.. somehow i dont think that the song attached to the picture.. dont match...it aint Lynn Anderson singing... and those instruments... were not invented in the 70sFAIL

The songs you mention are the ones I recall from Feb. 14th 1971, when the UK currency went decimal.I listened to those tracks on a Telefunken Riadio, which was yellow, and bought in Bahrein in 1969.If we could go back in time, I would be the first on the bus.Tempus fugit.

I agree totally. American Top 40 rebroadcasted Saturday, 23 January 1971 this week. I haven't heard "It's Impossible" in decades! I connect this song with "Knock Three Times", "My Sweet Lord", "Stony End" and whatever else was popular in January 1971. I have my records arranged chronologically as such. My only regret is that I cannot go back to that time and have a talk with myself!
